The guided projectile is such a type of projectile which is fired by artillery and equipped with guidance advices. It usually consists of guidance components, warhead and stabilized components, etc. The guided projectile is of many characteristics such as long range, high accuracy, high power and utility convenience, etc. It can be used to damage tanks, vehicles and warships.Someone of guided projectiles is studied in this paper. The unfolding dynamic model of rudder wings acted by spring thrust, air drag, centrifugal force and inertial force is established. The influence of Mach number, spin speed, coefficient of spring stiffness, initial amount of compression and length of rudder wings on the unfolding process is also analyzed. Through the numerical simulation, the following conclusions can be obtained:(1) The effect of spin speed on the unfolding process can be neglected when the spin speed is relatively small;(2) The influence of flight velocity on the unfolding process mainly focuses on the late period and the drag moment increases with increasing the flight velocity;(3) The influence of spring (including stiffness coefficient and initial amount of compression) on the rudder wings mainly focuses on the early stage of the unfolding process and the unfolding moments acted on the rudder wings increases with increasing the stiffness coefficient and initial amount of compression;(4) The longer the length of rudder wings is, the larger the folding moment acted on the rudder wings is, with decreasing the angular velocity. Therefore, the stiffness coefficient and initial amount of compression of spring and the length of rudder wings should be considered in the design. The concrete design principles are proposed in this paper through an example. Finally, the model and method of strength checking are both given in this paper. The research work conducted by this paper is useful for the design of rudder wings of guided projectiles.
