Study On The Barrier-Design's Current On Beijing Subway Station

The thorough research of this paper is mainly about the Barrier-Free Design of Subway in Beijing City and how to guide to Universal Design. It will invest each circuit of subway on-the-spot in late 2008 in Beijing with assistant researches such as questionnaire and interview. It will analyze and summarize the advantages of the Barrier-Free Design of the subway in Beijing and explore the possibility transferring from Barrier-Free Design to Universal Design according to the International Barrier-Free Design. This paper mainly includes three parts:Chapter 1 Introduction, which illustrates the background the meaning and the plan of the research. Chapter 2 analyzes the advantages,disadvantages and development of Barrier-Free Design of subway in Beijing on the basis of investigation and analysis on-the-spot about the Barrier-Free Design of subway in Beijing, and with four separate aspects of passageway of subway,layers of the station hall,transfer system and Barrier-Free Design in carriage. Chapter 3 is mainly based on the subject of transferring from Barrier-Free Design of subway in Beijing to Universal Design, the development of which is investigated according to the theories and principles of Universal Design. It will be the reference of the development of transferring from Barrier-Free Design of subway in Beijing to Universal Design.
