In recent days, the implementation of the policy "Independent business operation and transparent bidding up" draws an increasing focus on the security for power plant. The equipment management, especially thermal equipment management, plays a very important role in power generation. To keep pace with the current and future development tendency of condition-based management, this thesis defines an efficiency index indicating the integrated condition of security and economy. Based on this index, four contributions are included in the research of efficiency evaluation method and system for the thermal equipment in power plant.1. The function of data communication between OPC (OLE for Process Control) sever and OPC client is devenloped. Thousands of DCS/PLC data are needed in the efficiency evaluation, which can be conveniently read and written by OPC client from OPC server. The powerful adaptability between software and hardware owned by OPC interface is more competitive than any other data interface.2. The summarization and simplification of thermal parameters calculation is given. Besides acquiring the real-time DCS/PLC data through OPC interfaces directly, some parameters have to be calculated for further processing. Hence, this thesis summarizes the calculation process for some thermal equipment such as boiler, turbine, condenser and heater etc. Additionally, some complex calculation process such as boiler efficiency is further simplified under conditions of reasonable hypothesis.3. As the first work of its kind, a novel 3-dimension based efficiency evaluation method is proposed. this thesis gives three dimensions, including comparable efficiency, parameters efficiency and potential efficiency, to fully integrate the objective and subjective parameters for efficiency evaluation.4. Combing with afore-mentioned three contributions, an efficiency evaluation and integrated management system for the thermal equipment in power plant is finally designed and implemented, including the algorithms of data reading and writing through OPC interface, thermal parameters calculation and 3-dimension based efficiency evaluation. This system with C/S and B/S mixed frameworks can achieve the satisfactory operation performance as indicated by the application programmer interfaces and data analysis...
