Cam mechanism is widely used in all kinds of mechanisms, especially in auto-control and auto-machine, because of its compact structure, steady capability, effective control and excellent adaptability. For quite a long time, forward design is used to solve the cam problem. However, because every procedure in production may bring errors, the actual cam contour always doesn't accord with the theoretical cam contour, and testing the cam contour error is also a key problem in cam precision transmission. Besides, the contour character of the import automatic equipment is always unknown, so it will be very difficult to localize it.This thesis aims at solving the problem of testing the platecam contour. It does some effective attempts in inverse-designing of cam contour motion rule with some mature mechanism testing technique and reverse engineering technique. This thesis takes a type-462 engine camshaft of Changan microbus as the tested object, and designs a camshaft testing board with mechatronics. This testing board runs by the mechanical base supporting camshaft, tests the corner and cam lifts hift of the camshaft by grating sensor, and collects the cam contour data with a data collecting software. This thesis also establishes some mathematical models, such as data error processing, subsection, fitting; and compiles some data processing software.This thesis establishes both hardware and software of the test system and debugs the system. It analyzes the type 7FDL-16 diesel engine cam of American type ND5, whose cam lift data is known; and compares the result with the initial data. It proves that, this software is effective for fitting, it can fit the relatively actual contour motion rule. This thesis also practices iterative data test and processing on type-462 engine camshaft, and gets the most exact data, which accords with the actual camshaft contour motion. In the end, this thesis analyses the factors which may cause the system error, and makes a good beginning for further improvement in testing precision and data reverting precision of the camshaft testing board.
