Generally speaking, acoustic signal produced by moving vehicle is a kind of compound signal with many sources such as engine, gearbox, propeller shaft, vehicle body , tires and so on. People always named the vehicle acoustic signalas noisy and divide it into three principal components——tire noise,airstreams noise and engine noise. This paper thinks that it is a constructive method to diagnose the vehicle's breakdown via analyzing the energy and frequency variation of different signals separated from the moving vehicle noisy. So this paper studies the blind separation of vehicle acoustic signal based on the technique of Blind Signal Extraction(BSE).Firstly, we summarize the developing situation of the engine bugs of diagnosis and make a introduction of the principles of sound producing and the laws of sound propagation. Then we analyze the feasibility of vehicle bugs diagnosis through the analysis acoustic signal. Secondly, we collect acoustic signal by a linear sensor array and then adjust the signal by some necessary pretreatment such as spheroidizing. Finally we make a separation of vehicle acoustic signal by BSE technique and transform it into voice by a certain order . It's provide a judgment standard to the accuracy of extraction of original compound signal.The research demonstrates that this method has an effective application to the separation of different noise produced by moving vehicle . This feasible method to diagnose vehicle bugs will have a popular application.
