Resource-based industrial area is one type of the principal industrial areas in Chin a.The resource-based cities take on special development features for the restriction of no regeneration and exhaustion of the mineral resources,and such facts have reflecte d adequately during the processes of location,mode decision and the industrial selecti on.Dalate is in the North of Ordos,Inner Mongolia.Shulinzhao,the central village,i s the new coal resource-based town which is rising with the development of coalfield in 1990s.This paper is focus on the planning of the Dalate industrial area,discuss t he proper location and the scale to the original natural eco-environment and the devel opment situation under the new pattern of market-economy enviroment,traffic system and the modern age production techniques on the base of the experiences and lessons from the similar areas in china and abroad.For more,the paper is expecting to be a good demonstration to the heavy chemical engineering bases and other new industrial areas,and play a important role in accelerate the sustainable utilization and the sustai nable development of society.This paper analysis the situation and processes of the development,describes the type and the characters of the Dalate industry with the comparison of the regulations and the problems during the development of the other resource-based industrial areas, and deeply discuss the major influential factors such as spatial distribution,developme nt and utilization and natural eco environment.Finally,it gives the suggestions to the Dalate industrial area on location,mode and the development strategy.
