Recently, more and more attentions have been paid to strength of body structure and side-rolling crash safety of bus, because of this reason, much regulation for safety of bus structure have been constituted in international orderly , such as ECE R66 edited by U.N.ECE .Nowadays, Chinese government will carry out obliged regulation about strength of bus body structure according to ECE R66 to catch with the steps of international, and it will be the uniform approval of safety attestation of productions.Then, new research production must to obey the regulations, and the side-rolling crash test is an important content.In this paper, analysis about strength and rigidness of body structure of certain kind of civil manufactured bus is done by large scale finite element software ANSYS on RC, and, the simulation of side-rolling crash is made out on the body frame of this large-sale bus according to the requirement of the newest safety regulation ECE R66 of 2006 edited by U.N.ECE.At the same time, improve the design of bus body skeleton frame properly. Through simulation calculations, it proved that the improved model could satisfy the requirement of side-rolling crash safety of bus body structure.The paper mainly includes such contents as below:(1) Static analysis. To responds to asks of the bus company, analyzing body structure ofnew research production under three typical working conditions, and checking its strength and rigidness of the frame.(2) Modal analysis. Through analysis of natural frequency and vibration mode of busbody structure, got speciality of vibration of body structure, and providing the criterion for design.(3) Side-rolling crash simulation. simulation of side-rolling crash of the bus are carriedout referring to ECE R66,then, compared the simulation result of this bus with the reality side-rolling crash test result of civil manufactured bus.(4) According to the result of simulation, improve the design of this simulation bus in just degree to satisfy the requirement of regulations to the full extent.
