Automobile manufacturing quality determines its market competitiveness, while body in white of the welding quality to vehicle manufacturing quality has great influence, therefore, monitor and improve the welding quality body in white appear particularly important.This paper based on the actual project, studies on control of welding errors of body in white which is universal existence in automobile enterprises (the industry called "2mm Project").This article has developed"Body in white welding error control software". The engineering role of the software is to improve the welding quality of body in white and then improve the quality of vehicle manufacturing in some extent. Software development tools are the Visual Basic 6.0 and MATLAB 7.2. MATLAB realizes the wavelet analysis and the correlation analysis of the algorithm; VB realizes the establishment of the database and displays the curve of the results; VB programming and then calls MATLAB to achieve their seamless connectivity.The software has two main functions: The first, it provides the wavelet analysis and correlation analysis module. Wavelet analysis module filters the original measured data that is measuring from Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM). Correlation analysis module searches for the related fault point and searches for the strong correlation fault point in the same region. The second, it provides the module of the result and the curve shows. Curve can show three different data curve. The results of processing display that the related information of the point name and show related measuring point between the related degrees. The software can be used to convert the data acquired from CMM and establish a database, and it can be used to filter data with Wavelet filter and do relevant search, output relevant search results and show a curve data in a different way. According to the above process analysis and results showing that judgment the error sources. Study the welding error and the rule of the spring back welding fixtures. The source of fault can be found from this process, and finally through adjusting welding fixture then control welding error. In this paper, the software completed a car factory welding errors body in white of monitoring work, and introduced some controlling examples. It has proved that this software in monitoring welding error is effective and practical.
