At present, air-conditioned energy storage technology are mainly popular in large and medium-sized air-conditioning systems, which are capable to balance the supporting electrical load and cut off the operating cost of air-conditioning. As the number of domestic and commercial air conditioners and other small supermarket is rapidly increasing, the small-sized energy storage for air-conditioning system is in great need of fundamental theoretical study on for its large practical popularity. Small sized energy storage is one of the most promising air-conditioned techniques that have great potential in energy-saving.The performance of small-sized water energy storage and for air-condition were analyzed in details during operating in winter, that temperature increases of five different conventional refrigerants before entering evaporators, heat release time were also analyzed for their various effect on the heat capacity, consumed energy and COP of the air-conditioning system. Based on the above research, a correlation of temperature increase and system performance was proposed. The relationship of heat release time and system performance was given for VRV air-conditioning with ice energy storage through contrasting the feasibility and economical effect of various heat storage types. The mathematical model for U coil was developed upon the thermal analyses and numerical calculation to simulate the dynamic icing and de-icing coil. The discipline of ice storage and ice melting was therefore obtained, and refrigerant temperature and velocity at inlet of storage tank make different effect on the system performance. It showed that the simulated model is capable to simulate the dynamic icing and de-icing coil, thereby providing theoretical bases for small-sized energy storage for air-conditioning system.
