Because of the complexity of the working place and large amount of outside information, today's tracked vehicles should be lightened, member-cut, oil-saved, efficency-enhanced, and shifting intelligent etc. The new qualitified powertrain of all performance is increasingly put on design board. Fuzzy control will be employed widely for its outstanding virtue of being able to handle uncertain system, forming expert knowledge, vague deduction and robustness etc. Automatic transmission box based on fuzzy technology have come out being successfully. Thus, based on existing research results, combining with related projects of National Key Lab of Vehicular Transmission, this paper does simulation study on the intelligent shift strategies and control system of tracked vehicles mainly using the fuzzy control theory.First, based on MATLAB7.1/Simulink6.3, the simplified dynamic simulation models of tracked vehicles were established after analyzing the powertrain system. Also, the whole simulation models for multi-parameter intelligent shift of tracked vehicles with different gear-number were established. Then, the influence of shift law on vehicle performance was analyzed, and the methods of transforming traditional shift law into intelligent shit strategies and designing Fuzzy Logic Controller was studied. And, multi-parameter intelligent shift strategies were established, which can apply for tracked vehicles with different gear-number to automatically shift based on the closed-loop system composed of driver's intent, road conditon and vehicle's performance. These strategies can make vehicles with better performance according to driver's intent and road conditon, and their good adaptability and feasibility was verified by examples.Multi-parameter and Multi-gear Fuzzy Logic Controller was put forward and designed. Switch module between economical shift mode and dynamical shift mode was designed to meet various road conditions and driving styles. Max-speed adjustable module was put forward and designed to meet the need of adjusting max-speed and minimum stable speed to a certain extent.Based on research above, the software on intelligent shift simulation system of tracked vehicles was exploited using the theory of parametric modeling and knowledge engineering. Multi-parameter and multi-gear intelligent shift strategies and selective model meet the demand for studying shift system for various vehicles and road conditions. The feasibility and practicality was verified by the application. The software development show some guidance and reference to the research for transmission technology of tracked vehicles.
