Kashi is on an ancient Silk Road's pearl, after more than 2000 year cultural baptisms, is the Xinjiang domestic only historical city. As a result of each religion's dissemination successively, the different national custom's mutual influence, multicultural's fusion development, the old city's traditional Uygur national minority common people residence courtyard has the unique national character and style and the glorious historical culture, becomes one of Kashi region culture representatives. This article from the old city of Kashgar Uighur traditional residential compound of the origin and diversity of the historical background start to explore the old city courtyards of traditional houses as the carrier of the context transmission, from the history, culture, national religion, customs, geographical environment, aesthetic point of view and so on to conduct in-depth analysis, stressed the continuation of the Uighur residential compound of the importance of culture to promote the aesthetic traditions of Islamic architecture, Concerned about the residential compound of humanities content, as well as the new era of the traditional residential compound of the development direction of strengthening the people's traditional courtyard houses and live in the protection of cultural awareness, the promotion of heritage, innovative, traditional courtyard houses to be sustainable development.Research on Uighur residents and the environment should form the light of social and cultural ideology, in its form - function, the family - social relations and deep understanding of cultural values on the basis of the reasonable protection of local residential areas, adaptation and development of Uighur traditional courtyard houses and carry forward the cultural heritage to retain their own cultural identity, so that cultural continuity and context.
