This Paper describes the components in the common electronic control system of Engine and Presents the basic control theory and algorithm in the electronic control unit. The paper has discussed its current development situation of the EFI system, it also has carried out relevant careful research and analyzed to the composition structure and the operation principle of the ECU and the sensors including the control principle and control strategy about the EFI system. It has analyzed the means of control to the fuel injection. This will help To develop new-style engine ECU measuring device to get the MAP data from foreign ECU .The ECU measuring device can not only detec the foreign ECU, but also be used to optimize the control Parameters in the ECU developed. In our studies, adjusting the throttle to the speeific position, and letting engine rotary speed change from the lowest to the highest, at the same time, the data of the water temperature, the fuel temperature, the air press and the rotary speed can be noted. Moreover, we can measure the fuel quantity and the ignition angle. On the base of the data, the MAP of the steady state control can be constructed. The data can be used as specimen for studying ECU control algorithm. This paper also discusses speed and fuel control in automotive engine management. Automotive engines are typical nonlinear, time-delay,time-varying parameter systems. Intelligent control can solve many complex system control problems by integrating human knowledge into control systems. In this paper, the structures of speed neuro control are researched. neuro control and PID control applied to solve automotive speed and A/F control problems are efficient. The gasoline engine model which was brought up by professor Elbert Hend- risks and his colleagues who work in Denmark technology univercity is adopted in this paper. This engine model has very high precision and its standard error is only 2-3% in whole working range for threc different engine models. It has the similarly precision level to the same engine adopting different manifold and fuel injection system. So it is adopted widely.
