Automobile Road Test has been paid more and more attention since the 40's of 20th century , and becomes one of the basic automobile performance test methods quickly. With the development of the technology, sorts of new technologies and equipments have also been applied to the automobile road test so as to improve the detection accuracy and efficiency further. The paper has developed a data analysis system of automobile road test ,to address the deficiency of the equipments of the traditional automobile for the road test ,combined with the actual situation of Automobile and Traffic Engineering Laboratory of our university ,based on the transformation and use of Non-contact sensor of the comprehensive performance tester , according to up-to-date national standards for vehicle road test, making use of the Virtual Instrument technology.First of all, the paper has analysed the development of the automobile performance detection system at home and abroad, introduced the virtual instruments and the application briefly, put forward the main research contents of this paper.Second, for the requirements of automobile road test, it has transformed, produced and selected the related hardware, including the transformation and use of Non-contact Photoelectric Sensor, production of±8V electrical source converter, data wire and design of amplifier circuit, and selection of Data Acquisition Card .The signal Amplificer circuit and sensor share the electrical source which is double electrical source. Then, focusing on the general design of software system and each function module's plot and design, including sub-modules of data acquisition, filtering, waveform count, speed calculation, acceleration calculating and data storage, reading, as well as the development and realization of virtual instruments for automobile power, braking, economy. The actual test experiment by the self-made drum has proved the feasibility of test system software , hardware structure and the correctness of analysis result. Finally, explained the methods for automobile ride comfort, evaluation standards and the realization of virtual instrument technology. The Simulation data of two degrees of freedom's automobile modle has been compared by using MATLAB / Simulink,validated the accuracy of the calculation for data processing of riding comfort test module.The paper has exploited a data analysis system of automobile road test , using a PC machine for the hardware platform, the LabVIEW of NI company as the software development platform, assisted with the relational sensors, signal adjustor and Data Acquisition Card. It can accomplish some functions, including the data collection, storage, reading, analysis processing and display .The software design which adopts modular programming approaches, with better scalability and portability, has a positive significance for quickening the replacement of laboratory equipment.
