Gansu province is located in the northeastern margin of Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, the new strong tectonic is active, active faults, especially the Holocene active fault, extremely develops. The Altyn Tagh large-scale faults, the Changma faults, the northern margin of Long Hill from west to east and so on, almost throughout Gansu Province, which has posed a serious threat and constrain to the construction of highway projects in Gansu Province and development. The study on active fault's hazards of highway projects is a very urgent and necessary.Basing on data collection and field survey, in this paper the regional structure of Gansu Province was analysed, citing proof of continental dynamics of the active faults and earthquakes consistency, and then to active faults and seismic parameters were the factors for model builting, a comprehensive evaluation of the Gansu Province on the risk of active faults was made, and then works on division to the danger of the highway had been done.In this paper, the study and the results include:1) The northeastern margin of Qingzang-Tibet plateau geological characteristics of the region, the distribution of characteristics (size, distribution, direction and nature of distribution) and its characteristics (including the latest activities of acting, activity time, activity rate and the historical earthquake) in Gansu Province Holocene active faults;2) The active faults in Gansu Province and its implications for the development of the characteristics of the hazards of highway engineering was studyed, active faults against the type of road works and their failure modes was analysed, the intersection of the Gansu Province of active faults and Highway Engineering and damage Gansu Province, active faults and the intersection of Highway Engineering and damage were summed up;3) Bye use of fuzzy comprehensive evaluation theory, the model of Gansu Province, active faults Holocene dangerous comprehensive evaluation was established, and Gansu Province Holocene active fault was divided on the danger.
