Cold disasters like the fracture on the lining surface, peeling off, ice covering, watering and freezing of the road surface in tunnels have been greatly weakening the service capacity and producing heavy burden on the maintenance of many tunnels built in cold areas in our country. With the development of transportation infrastructure, the tunnel project has been gradually extending to the high altitude cold. Compared with traditional tunnels in the cold area. these tunnels will take large size and require higher technology. Moreover, the extreme climatic conditions are very unfavorable for these tunnels. Therefore, problems of how to take effective measures to prevent cold damages from happening during construction have constantly coming into our view and still remain to be solved.This article take the Alatan tunnel as the project backing, the basis similarity theory, carries on under each kind of operating mode through the self-made large-scale testing model to the Alatan tunnel the indoor simulation, obtains Alatan tunnel frostproof parameters and so on heat insulating layer choice of material, defended thickness, defended position with the testing method, again carries on the testing method obtained parameter and the finite element computation method obtained data the contrastive analysis, obtains thermal insulation material related data which tallies with the actual project situation, provides the design for the actual project to provide the experimental basis. Moreover, this article also unifies the cold area tunnel temperature annual variation scope to be big, the periodic reciprocation's actual situation, carries on repeatedly the freezing and thawing to the thermal insulation material, after the test repeatedly freezing and thawing, the thermal insulation material heat preservation performance, takes before repeatedly the freezing and thawing heat conduction coefficient value has not been the leaving the plant value is safe.
