The R-μrelations have been accepted by foreign design codes widely. The R-μrelations are that the correlations between adopted smaller earthqake action level and displacement ductility ratioμin whichever intensity region are same. But the Chinese seismic design code takes different seismic measures and choses the same earthquake design level in all intensity regions. The R-μrelations in Chinese seismic design are studied in this thesis, the main research work finished in this thesis is as follows:1,Summary and analysis of the chief research findings of R-μ-T relations of single-degree-of-freedom inelastic systems and R-μrelations of redundant structures so far finished. The main research findings of R-μrelations of single-degree-of-freedom and R-μrelations of redundant structures are consistent. It should be admitted that "R-μprinciple" is the fundamental principle to ensure seismic performance of structures.2,Comparison of specific measures reflecting R-μrelations in seismic design codes of different countries; discussions of R-μrelations in the Chinese seismic design code. It shows that the Chinese seismic design code does not follow "R-μprinciple ".3,Introduction of the basic principles of Pushover analysis. According to Chinese and US seismic design code 46 space frame structures respectively were designed(Including Intensity Region 7, 8,9 and with or without interior partition), and analysis the 46 space frame structures with Pushover analysis method. It has been found that as a result of the discrepancy of the Chinese seismic design code and "R-μprinciple ", the displacement ductility ratioμof frame structures is Reduced from Intensity Region 9 to Intensity Region 7. UBC97 is in line with the "R-μprinciple ". |
