The Luding hydroelectric power station located in Dadu River basin, at the Luding county of Sichuan Ganzi Tibetan Autonomous Region. The dam site is approximately 40km apart from Kangding, 2.5km apart from Luding, 300km apart from Chengdu. Bedrock and overburden layer covered the high slope behind the workshop building. The high slope needed research about its stability. This article mainly talked about the stability of the high slope (including rock and soil) behind the workshop building, with the elevation between 1300m and 1650m. The concrete research results are as follows.1.First, this article established three-dimensional model of the slope, carried on a Fast Lagrange Analysis of Continue method, analyzed the stress and strain. The analog computation was done in the software of ANSYS. The result indicated that this slope was stable integrally, no region with emergent displacement and stress. However, there was still some gliding tendency in overburden layer.2. After overall stress and strain analysis, this article carried on the stability two-dimensional analysis on the typical cross section of the slope behind the workshop building, by the rigid limit equilibrium method. And the stability computations of both natural and excavated slopes were done by the software of EMU, in both natural and earthquake states. By calculating, it is shown that the excavation would destroy the stabilization of the slope, and make the construction dangerous.3. According to the possibility and the shape of the slope destabilization, surface load had been applied to the slope by giving supports. In this paper, the main supports used the anchor wire for the excavated slope. The result had indicated that the slope was at the steady state after the feasible and economical supports, and met the check of the natural and earthquake states.
