Typical Breakdowns Of Insulators And Preventive Measures

Through the analysis of the typical reasons that cause the malfunctions of composite insulator, this study formulates preventive measures to guide the technical transformation countering accidents and reduce the fault rate of lines; through broad access to relevant information both at home and abroad, taking advantage of the instrumentation and test equipment in the 18-county branches of Shijiazhuang Power Supply Company, it summed up the operating experience and the implement of anti-fault measures . The main contents of the study include: the main components of composite insulators and its characteristics; the malfunctions caused by bird pest, ice flash, brittle fracture, and the lightning flashover and preventive measures. The innovation of this study are the deep analyses on: the characteristics of composite insulators and a variety of causes of breakdowns; on hydrophobicity of composite insulators and hydrophobic transfer; and the non-significant hydrophobicity reasons of bird's dropping; on the methods of installing the side-anti-lightning-pin on overhead transmission lines and the effect.
