Along with the national economy's development, the long span bridge is developing quickly in our country, and the long span continuous beam bridge is one of the most widely application bridge types. our country is muti-seismal, therefore, the bridge construct as the lifeline project, especially the long span bridge construct, it is necessary and essential to make a detailed and deeply analyze the reaction of earthquake effect.In this paper,tkaing Changde Hanshou Yuanshui Bridge as an example, based on the basic theore of the seismic response analysis, two methods including spectrum response analysis and time-history analysis of earthquake are applied to a PC continuous beam bridge of one unit with 8 spans. The main research contents include the following:1. Establish 3-dimensional finite element models and calculate the sel-vibration characteristic of the bridge.2. Considering into the influence of the pile-soil interaction to the seismic response of the bridge based on the characteristic of the site soil of the bridge.3. Carry out the seismic response analysis to the long span continuous beam bridge using response spectrum method and discuss the influences of several kinds of design parameters to seismic response of the bridge.4. Carry out the coincident earthquake excitation analysis to the long span continuous beam bridge using dynamic time history method and compare it with response spectrum result.5. Calculate the seismic response of the bridge with travelling wave effect by inputing different velocities of seismic wave, compare with the results under the coincident earthquake excitation, and study the influence of travelling wave effect to the seismic response of the bridge.6. according to the characteristic of Changde Hanshou Yuanshui Bridge, the schemes of installing arthquake-reduction and seismic-isolation devices of the continuous beam bridge are ensured. analyse the influence of earthquake-reduction and seismic-isolation schemes to the seismic response of the bridge. At the same time, the main design parameters of viscous damper are discussed. The earthquake-reduction effectiveness of the main design parameters of viscous damper are studied.
