Because of lacking sufficient shear resistance, rutting is actually a main destroy mode in asphalt pavement early destroys in the high temperature. In nowadays, most fatigue experiment was carrying out under a low temperature(such as 15℃) by applying vertical directional load, but research on fatigue cracking caused by lower modulus in the asphalt pavement is very little. In most country, not only asphalt mixture design but also asphalt pavement design haven't been concerned about mixture's shear resistance in the high temperature. So, doing some research on mixture's shear performance is very necessary.Firstly, SST(Superpave shear test)which was developed by The Introduction of Stratagem Highway Researching Plan in America(SHRP) was introduced to do shear experiment. In order to doing comparative analysis of how factors to influence mixtures'shear properties, the paper introduced different content of flat and elongated particles in the mixtures,different asphalt in the mixtures,different asphalt content in the mixtures and aggregates factors in the mixtures to do shear text in 40℃.The analysis on the test result suggested that appropriately content of flat and elongated particles in the mixtures was good for improving mixtures'shear resistant, the mixture which was formed by SBS modified asphalt had a better shear resistance than the other asphalt, the value of optimum asphalt content given by Marshall method is on the high side, which will conduct the reduction to mixtures'shear properties, under the condition of different aggregates gradings, the mixture which formed a suitable framework structure had a better shear resistance in the same range of particle size, and the shear deformation growing with the range of sizes extending.Secondly, with comparative analysis the experiment result between RSCH and the single penetration test, the article reached the same conclusion. In order to do research on shear fatigue properties, the paper doing RSCH in four different stress level to AC-13F mixture and gave out failure criterion to it, also. Lastly, deduced the formula of shear fatigue of AC-13F mixture according to the experiment result and modified it.
