On The Narrative Design Of Landscape Architecture

This research aims to make some research on Landscape Architeture by the Theory of Narrative in the realm of literature,so that to find out how to use narrative design reasonably and sufficiently in modern Landscape Architeture.It is the very idea to make design vocabulary integrate with local culture and philosophy,make a construction of the sense of place and emotional experience,and make a spiritual bridge between site and it's users.This dissertation takes approach of analogy analysis,epagoge and case studies.With the study of analysis on some theories and projects,it based on the Theory of Narrative and make a synthetical application on the history of Landscape Architeture,Essence of History and Genius loci,so that to make a systematic investigation on narrative design of landscape architeture.The research gets two conclusions:Narrative design of Landscape Architeture is an effective way to make a construction of the sense of place and emotional experience.Narrative design is not a abuse of history symbols,but should use a meaningful subject and structural relation to organize a narritve space with interior logical order and tension.The innovation and significance of the research are presented as follow:1.Based on the Theory of Narrative in the realm of literature to make a research on Landscape Architeture,and reveal characteristics and significance of narrative design.Make a conclusion of rhetoric strategy of narrative and make an investigation on narrative strategies in Landscape Architeture:use a meaningful subject and structural relation to organize a narritve space with interior logical order.2.Propose narrative strategies in Landscape Architeture:accrete with nature;make a spatial order;interact with people.
