Wind turbine has been paid more attention by human being because of its advantages, which make the wind turbine technology largely significant today. But the wind is changing every time. So its randomness and instability bring many questions to the use of wind energy. When the wind speed surpasses the available scope, if there is not auto-protecting mechanism on the wind turbine, the gale can destroy the blades and the generator.In view of this question, the paper mainly research automatic restricting and safety mechanism of the 300W wind turbine, and gives a method after a series of theoretical analysis, which can restrict the wind rotor rotational speed by making the wind turbine revolve 90°to avoid the strong wind. Firstly, the paper gives the controlled parameter by the experimental study on the relation of generator output characters and rotor speed. And it needs to finish the design of auto-controlling system on the basis of related theories. Secondly, it needs to calculate the parameters of yaw to choose appropriate equipments. At last, the wind turbine's automatic restricting and safety mechanism is designed, an experiment is carried on and its result indicates that the automatic restricting and safety mechanism is better.The whole mechanism is cheap, safe and reliable. There is a significant meaning to prolong the service life of the wind turbines. And it also provides the research foundation to automatic restricting and safety mechanism on the larger wind turbine.
