With the development of China's transportation construction and implementation of western development strategy, the construction of highway is transferred into the mountains in China. Because of the complex mountainous terrain, High fill subgrade is inevitable. And there is probably arrangement of two or more than two roads at the same high fill regional, so the same roadbed will be under the multi-storey vehicle load. Stability of high fill embankment slope under multi-storey loads is studied in this paper. In order to study the physical and mechanical properties of materials of the high fill embankment, lab experiment is conducted firstly. The necessary parameters of slope stability analysis are obtained through the experiments. And then, the slope stability is analysised under vehicle load that is Equivalent to the soil column and the equivalent uniformly distributed load, the calculation results show that little difference between two treatments of vehicle load, but the latter results more reasonable. And then by changing the slope height and gradient, slope stability is studied under different slope height and gradient. The results show that: With the increase of slope height and the reduction of slope gradient, the influence of vehicle load on slope stability become more and more small, and gradually stabilized; vehicle load on the top of slope has less influence on the stability of high fill slope than vehicle load on on the step of slope. As a whole, vehicle load has little influence on the stability of high fill embankment slope. The previous conclusions are obtained by the traditional slice method. And then, strength reduction finite element mothed is used to analysis the slope stability, the conclusions of strength reduction finite element are consistent with the conclusions of traditional slice method. Combining with engineering example of Fengjiedong interchange, two typical cross-sections are selected. Stability of the two cross-sections without vehicle load is analysised firstly, and then the stability of the two cross-sections with vehicle load is analysised. The results show that, the high fill slope of Fengjiedong interchange is in stable state. In order to ensure safety, the large-scale geotechnical centrifuge experiments are conducted for the two selected cross-section. The experimental results and calculation of analysis results are consistent. In a word, vehicle load has a little influence on the stability of high fill embankment slope.
