Research On The Assessment System Of Green Degree In Marine Power Plant

Since the 21st century, with the energy sources crisis and environment deterioration, shipping industry was dedicated in developing Environmental Conscious Ship (ECS). Energy saving and emission reduction policies were issued by PRC in recent years. The policies gave out the direction of development for shipping industry. The heart of the ship, power plant, was analyzed based on green degree, and assessment system of green degree in marine power plant was built, according to Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. Then, a certain ship with diesel engine power plant was chosen, and the assessment was made mainly about the energy and environment properties. At last, suggestions were made according to assessment results, in order to promote the development of marine power plant in the future. The main contents of the thesis are as follows:Firstly, some researches were made on international marine pollution rules and national energy saving and emission reduction policies. Through the researches, the actuality of marine power plant was found: the diesel engine was used as the governing power plant both in the small river ships and large ocean ships, and is heading for energy saving and emission reduction. At the same time, two kinds of new marine power plant, LPG engine and ME-GI engine, which had been put into use already, were introduced.In accordance with the development of marine diesel engine power plant, researches on the environmental friendliness of marine power plant were made, with the ECS theory. Assessment system of green degree on marine power plant was built out, based on Fuzzy Comprehensive Evaluation. All the indexes of the system were expounded, and the minimum standard values of them were set according to all kinds of laws and experience values in the shipping industry.What's more, in accordance with a certain ship which launched in 2008, the green degree of its diesel engine power plant was assessed. The result was that the power plant can't meet the requirement of energy and environment. The biggest disadvantage is that the fuel of diesel engine is Marine Fuel Oil, a kind of polluting energy.The diesel engine has the governing status among all kinds of marine power plants, and this will not change in the near future. In order to promote the green degree of diesel engine power plant, Controllable Pitch Propeller and Electric Propulsion should be used. At the same time, green power plant should be studied, such as fuel cell ship, sail -assisted ship, solar ship, and so on. The most promising one is the sail-assisted ship, owing to its enough power and lower investment for large ocean ships.
