Recent years, in China the road transportations are increasing rapidly. As a result, the economic loss caused by cargo restraint system failure in traffic accidents is growing fast. Therefore, new regulations and standards about cargo restraint system are being formulated, and will go into effect soon. Regulations and bounding methods making and developing should be based on crash test data. So far, there are no truck crash test equipments special in cargo restraint system developing in China. This paper summarized the characters and laws in truck crash test equipments developing, described the composition, principle and methods about that. It gives an electric traction layout for Dongfeng truck load type EQ1092F19D crash test. This scheme based on high power DC motor, implements an accurate velocity control of the full-size simulated test vehicle. It also brings up a scheme of the main frame of the electric traction system to build the following models: 450kw DC motor model, three-phase rectifier circuit model, double loop speed control system model. By suing the Matlab/Simulink software for simulation computing, it achieves the following results: DC motor start-up time-current curve, DC motor series resistance start-up time-speed curve, time-speed curve under double loop speed control system and time domain response of the system. The paper discussed the stability of the system when it was given a load disturbance. Further more, simulation results proofs the scheme's correction and provides references for real equipments building and design optimization. Finally, it summarized the work of the full text, and discussed the future trend of DC motor control and design of truck crash test equipments for better improvement of the equipments.
