The monitoring system for marine centrifugal pump can not only monitor centrifugal pump in real time, but also can undertake the performance test and vibration test of centrifugal pump.The purpose of this paper is to complete the design of monitoring system for marine centrifugal pump. Through reading and reference a large number of literature on centrifugal pump monitoring, a certain amount of theoretical analysis and research work is done. With virtual instrument technology as exploitation platform, the hardware design of monitoring system is achieved with the help of computer aided testing technology and the software of monitoring system is developed with LabVIEW as a development tool. A large number of tests are carried out. To sum up, this article's research work and main results are as follows:(1) The monitoring system for marine centrifugal pump has been carefully researched. Through concrete analysis of monitoring system's function and measuring principle of all kinds of parameters, the hardware and software of the whole system is designed. Modularization design method in software design is adopted, so it is easy in maintenance, reading and transplantation, it can be used in other test system only slightly modified and the system's content can be extended conveniently.(2) Centrifugal pump's performance parameters can be displayed and monitored in real time in its performance testing modules; after experimental data have been analyzed and processed, the performance curve,cavitation curve and their functions are provided based on least squares curve fitting; automatic generation and printing of test reports can be achieved.(3) The vibration test of centrifugal pump has been carried out. Through three-direction piezoelectric acceleration sensors, the vibration signal which has been acquired is integrated into speed and analyzed in frequency spectrum simultaneously to judge whether the vibration signal is abnormal. According to calculated speed RMS, center height and rotational speed of centrifugal pump, the vibration level of pump is determined and automatic generation and printing of pump's vibration test reports can be achieved at last.(4) Under these circumstances that the test-bed's measuring instruments and other peripheral devices have been selected, the test-bed's precision grade is analyzed According to the requirement of GB/T3216-2005, experimental data which are acquired in performance test and cavitation test of centrifugal pump is analyzed in precision. The result shows that the system's performance is superior and it achieves research's purpose.
