Wuhan is a large urban of about 8,000,000 population. The urbanized course is also more and more quick in Wuhan city, automobile holds assumes the geometric series to grow but the transportation infrastructure rate of rise is lower by far than the vehicles actually the rate of rise, thus our country's metropolitans are facing the huge traffic pressure. This also affected the urban economy increase in some kind of degree further to develop and the promotion of the people lives level. It also brings traffic jam, the accident, the energy waste and the environmental pollution causes the transportation to become restriction bottleneck in the economic development. Wuhan because Yangtze River and Hanjiang River thrill through the urban, this unique geography condition bring crossing the river transportation question, the central area transportation question and the external communication question. The effective method of solving the Wuhan municipal transportation problem is to develop the public transit vigorously, especially to establish bus rapid transit system in the center of the city.Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system is a new type and high efficient bus operator system, whose transportation capacity is close to the rail transportation, and has rapid construction speed, also can retrench the investigation. It mainly refers to ground bus automotive system with the features of dedicated road, closed operation, level boarding and a-lighting, large-capacity vehicles. Its input is about one-tenth to one-seventh of subway, and the construction period is about one-fourth to one-third of subway, but the transportation capacity can reach one-third of subway. According to the development of Wuhan, it is necessary to contribute BRT system. Not only meet the rapid growing about the passenger demand, it can also solve the traffic imbalance between the supply and the demand.In this paper, I mainly discussed on the Bus Rapid Transit of Wuhan with the approach which combines qualitative and quantitative analysis on the base of quantitative analysis, a comprehensive analysis of the status quo in Wuhan public transport, including conventional bus, rail and other transportation situation (ferry, taxi, Small bus, as well as electric tricycles, etc.), and to find some public transportation problems in Wuhan .On this basis, I have found out the traffic goals and ideas of Wuhan's traffic, explore China's rapid transit modes and to find out suitable development model of Wuhan's Bus Rapid Transit, then spot checks carried out a reasonable plan for the state of travel in Wuhan Bus Rapid Transit System network. Followed the planning principles of BRT, we're going to build a network of BRT in Wuhan. So we can carry out BRT specific roads, BRT station design, BRT intersection priority access system. As well as a new the planning and design of electronic ticketing system. Finally, I'll made the development of Bus Rapid Transit system solution in Wuhan, the Government needs to give guidance and support ,the planning process should be harmonized and need to be implemented in phases and so on, With Wuhan's establishment of BRT systems, we must also pay attention to a number of issues, such as BRT operation problems in Wuhan, BRT dedicated road bridge, as well as some technical problems and funding issues of building the BRT and so on, these issues have done a detailed account in this article.
