| As W-band has many advantages, it has been widely used in accurate control and guide , radar and point to point communication system in military applications. Our institute assumes the tasks of accurate control and guide 3mm low noise amplifier, 3mm low noise IC and 3mm HEMT devices , all of these tasks are receiving terminals for complete systems .Noise figure is the key characteristic of receiver ,it is also a key parameter in evaluating the performance of electronic equipment .So , it is urgent to set up 3mm noise figure measurement system ,investigate its measurement methods ,accomplish accurate measurement .In this project ,we use double balanced mixer and LO to down-convert 3mm noise signal to within the frequency span of noise figure meter ,so as to accomplish noise figure measurement .In order to reduce the influence of the phase noise of LO and the loss of system components ,we add a low noise figure amplifier in front of the mixer to make the system more stabilized ,have good repeatability and high accuracy .Experimental data shows that the system has the following advantages :wide frequency span (75GHz~110GHz) ,simple configuration ,low cost ,it can be used with wafer station to do on-wafer measurement . |
