Deep-space transponder, the main communication channel between the deep-space spacecraft and the ground station, is used mainly for deep space exploration in the monitoring and control communications. It plays a very important role in the deep-space communication.In this paper, the purpose of the research is to study the low signal to noise ratio made by the deep-space transponder. In accordance with its technological development characteristic, the research focus is on the phase-locked loop. In combination with PLL’s theoretical analysis and noise analysis, a new implementation program under the low signal to noise ratio of the phase-locked loop has been put forward. Meanwhile, the author has established, designed and tested its hardware platform. Satisfactorily, all testing results have met the requirements.This paper solves the problem that phase lock loop of the deep-space transponder can receive the signal under the conditions of low signal to noise ratio. In addition, it realized the aim of high sensitivity made by the deep space transponder, bearing good prospects for aerospace applications.
