With the development of power system and the advancing of power market mechanism, the contradiction between supply and demand of electric power increasingly prominent. The operation of power network is nearer to its limit than it is before. The evaluation of current on line risk assessment of the system is important and necessary. In the paper, firstly discussed the basic principle and calculation methods of risk assessment, then took an introduction about some models of risk assessment and proposed the algorithm of it. Combining the power system actual operation exist massive uncertainty information, it is first that this paper proposed and adopted the cloud model to establish model to express the dual-uncertainty information, and then took simulation and calculation separately through the cloud parameter and multi-layer cloud load model, analyzed the cloud indicators, effectively proved the applicability that the use of cloud theory in power system operation risk assessment.
