| Recently ,with the rapid urbanization and ever-increasing vehicles, the traffic volume of the city increased rapidly and the traffic jam become more serious. We must take some measures to deal with the serious traffic jam that will counterwork our economy development. Traffic signal control is one of the most efficient methods. But it is too complicated for the fixed timing signal control to fit for the often-changing traffic condition, so the traffic signal timing scheme long used for years has to give room to a more modern timing scheme which is more effective, flexible and intelligent for smooth traffic at the point of intersections than ever. Fuzzy control is a kind of artificial intelligent control method, it needs no accurate mathematical or physical model. It can be implemented with expert knowledge and human experience, and can satisfy real-time, control traffic quickly dynamic control requirement.Firstly, the main control parameter and performance index and now the control method of traffic signal used in common were introduced in detail, the the paper also introduced three of the most representative and most effective regional traffic control system. Then aiming at one certain isolated intersection, the corresponding traffic signal control model has been brought forward and the strategy of two fuzzy controllers in tune has been push forward too. These two controllers are responsible for the phase sequence and green light time length each phase respectively. MATLAB is exploited to simulate the multiphase fuzzy control system, the result showed that which can reduce the average delay time and to improve the traffic power of the traffic vehicle in grade intersection effectively. This paper then focuses on the control problem of four-phase scheme of main road, and describes a cooperative signal control scheme. The results indicate the method can effectively reduce the vehicle average delay. |
