Arc grounding overvoltage is often happened in distribution power netwok,it threatens power network's security operation and electric power equipment. In the paper several kind of overvoltage is enumerated;the reason and the harm of arc grounding overvoltage is analyzed;several ways of arc suppression are compared.After analyzing and absorbing the advanced experience and technology of current microprocessor protection device, the paper bring a kind of arc suppression and over voltage microprocessor protective device based on DSP to suppress this kind of overvoltage .In the paper components of arc suppression and over voltage microprocessor protective device is presented,the hardware and software of the device controller is particularly introduced. The controller uses 32bits high performance TMS320F2812 DSP as it central control unit produced by TI incorporation. The hardware design is based on typical hardware configuration which includes data collection system,main microprocessor system and swithing value(digital value)input/output system; The software design is based on the embedded RTOSμC/OS-II, the taskes and the interrupts is divided,and design of the application is given.;At last the device reliability is designed.
