Along with people focusing more and more towards reliable and comfortable requirements of automobile and developing of microelectronics technology, automobile electronics has become concerned focus in domestic and international area. Only these cars, such as Audi A6, Passat B5, BMW 5 series, have been settled by dot-matrix LCD clusters in Chinese market in the passed 5 years, while these cluster suppliers are all TOP ones in the world. Our Chinese suppliers have no such a capability to provide them with satisfied clusters at that time. However, many B-class cars now have configured cluster with dot-matrix LCD, but its core technology is still controlled by international suppliers currently. Thus, it is very urgent to reseach and develop such a cluster with dot-matrix LCD and CAN BUS. The dot-matrix LCD is used for multiple-information device of cluster, such as huge information, easy reading, and good HMI, especially some warnings in Chinese, including TPMS and Rear Radar with different loudspeakers, which will help driver to make easy understanding from vision and hearing. The CAN BUS is a technology which efficiently supports distributed real-time with a very high level of security, It attracted much attention with a very high level of capability and security and a much better of anti-jamming. Based on marketing requirements of B-class cars, this thesis emphasize on analysis of its functional requirements, system construction and its potential result, in the aspects of microcontroller selection,design of DFMEA, main hardware and software and CAN module analysis. It's original to provide an over-voltage protection design and illumination auto-adjust module design, which will improve the reliability and intelligence and easyness for driver. In the last part, the writer analyzes the testing case and estimates the material cost. The article analyzes and designs from engineering side the cluster detailly and completely. It is advantagous in cost and platform, and will have a very good potential application in future.
