A new type of structure with concrete frame as the support of steel portal frame, which is called mixed-layer structure, now is applied to engineering. The synthetic economic index is super to that of frame structure or monolayer steel portal frame. However, study on mixed-layer structure is relatively little, therefore, further study on it is necessary. The difficulty of mixed-layer structure design is that there is no complete and single code for the design of the upper steel portal frame. During the design process, we can divide it into two independent phases, that is the designs for the base pure concrete frame and the upper steel portal frame. The safety can be ensured by considering the influence coefficient of mixed-layer structure on the basis of design for monolayer steel portal frame when designing for the upper steel portal frame, while the irrational value for the influence coefficient of mixed-layer structure usually influence the safety and economy of the structure. The displacement of this new structure is calculated and analyzed by ansys software in this paper and the displacement of the upper steel portal involving the mixed-layer structure is compared to that of the monolayer workshop in different loading cases, and hence the rational range of displacement influence coefficient of mixed-layer structure is determined. And semi-rigid connection is introduced in the connection of column base, the column base connection in the mixed-layer structure is discussed simply, accordingly, reference basis for such structure design is presented. Finally, the practical case is employed to verify the conclusion in this paper.
