Automatic Mechanical Transmission (AMT) is an important direction of Automatic Transmission development, as it retaining high transfer efficiency of Mechanical Transmission (MT), its simple structure, low cost and easiness to manufacture. Realizing the production of AMT, the starting control is a key problem. However the hill starting control is problem of starting control. This paper focused on the Automatic Mechanical Transmission of chanan CV11. The major object is coordinated control of engine, clutch, and bake in order to prevent vehicle from running backward or engine extinguishing when vehicle starts on the slope. The major tasks are as follows:①Analyzed properties of the vehicle powertrain system including the properties of engine and clutch. By the test data of JL486Q1 engine, the characteristic of engine speed is obtained, and the steady and dynamic engine model is established. By the test data of clutch, the characteristic of torque-transfer behavior is obtained.②The starting control strategy of clutch is made by the intention of drivers, jerk and friction work. Including making the aimed engine speed, calculating the engagement speed and the aimed engagement value of clutch and designing the fuzzy controller of engine aimed speed.③Analyze skillful driver operation process hill starting with MT vehicle. By analysis of dynamics of hill starting process, put forward influence factors of hill starting and simulate it, which lays the foundation in order to settling meeting problem of AMT hill starting.④Research and analyze types, the structure and principle of the current Hill Starting Aid (HSA). Analyze the structure and principle of Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), especially hydraulic system. Put forward improved design of HSA, which is based on ABS integrated control system.⑤The whole AMT vehicle control strategy is made based on HSA. The whole AMT vehicle simulation model was developed using Matlab/Simulink. The details of each component model and control method. Simulate and analyze the vehicle performance of hill starting. The result of simulation shows the whole AMT vehicle control strategy based on HSA, control method and the design of whole simulation model can reflected well starting process of AMT vehicle on slope.
