Membrane structure is a special structure form which is different from traditional ones.Since the 1970s,it has been gradually applied to various industrial and civil buildings abroad,in recent years has been more development in China.This paper is based on membrane structure of a large stadium,its structure shape, forces have been analyzed and researched,including the following aspects:(1) The general FEA program ANSYS is used to establish the finite element model and a composite method is used to form-finding analysis,after iterative calculation,a balanced minimal surface is obtained.Then the impact of form-finding of the frame membrane structure is analyzed with different membrane pretension and membrane materials.The results have shown that membrane surface stress increases with increasing pretension;regardless of the membrane types,under the same pretension,the maximum principal stress decreases with the thickness;to the similar membranes,it increases with tensile stiffness and to the different types of membranes without the rule. But the impact of the frame membrane shape is very small.(2) After form-finding,the load analysis of the actual engineering has been carried out.Based on three criteria,it is designed according to the ultimate bearing capacity state theory and,The comparison of several calculation results have shown that the design of protocols used in our country more secure.The studies of ETFE membrane pretension have shown that values choice 5%~9%of uniaxial ultimate tensile strength are safe.The mechanical behavior studies have shown that the use of large tensile stiffness more secure.
