Single-storey folded space net structure is adopted in steel structure for Shenzhen 2011 World Universiade Stadium Project.Characteristics of this project are:large span, high and heavy structure,complicated design,high requirements to precision of erection and welding quality,high potential hazards to HSE and tight schedule.Since the steel structure is surrounded by completed RC floor of basement with designed load of 1.5t/m~2,the floor cannot afford the load caused by hoisting equipments.Thus, ordinary connecting and splicing in space cannot be employed.After careful consideration and research,method named splicing on ground and assembling in space, accumulated sliding in multi-rails and rotating in same angle,unloading simultaneously in different grades is adopted.To be more detailed,set 4 concentric round rails of different radius with the center of roof as center of circle,slide along railed with different circles.Sliding power is provided by frequency hydraulic crawlers to move along the rails with same angular speed,rotate the assembled structure units to designated locations.Sliding is totally controlled by computer,analyzed by optical fiber and optical sensor and supervised about tension of key positions,thus to ensure the stability and safety of structure.Since the members are sliced and assembled at designated locations,the hoisting equipments can stay in same positions without moving.The operation areas are fixed and it is easy for us to implement standard site management for splicing,assembly and welding.By this way,the operation environment is improved,which is quite favorable for controlling of welding quality and erection precision,reducing risk of working at height.If not adopting this method,temporary supports to floors must be set which is required for moving cranes on the RC floor.In this way,the construction cost can be saved greatly.Meanwhile,since there are no supports under floor,other specialties can work together,thus to accelerate the schedule.Complicated round space structure with high and long span can be completed by hoisting in fixed position and sliding rotating.Through the research of application in Shenzhen 2010 Universiade Stadium,project management(including erection quality, HSE management,and administration of large equipments) is solved successfully, meeting all requirements(such as construction items,types,site conditions,schedule, cost,machines and equipments,allocation and organization management).It is quite useful for application in large utility facilities such as theaters and stadiums.This technology is deemed to have a bright future.
