It is a common problem of asphalt pavement cracking all over the world, owing to the cracking, water can go into the pavement to reduce the carrying capacity of pavement structure and shorten the pavement life. In addition, with the improvement of people's life standard and the development of automobile industry, the number of waste tyres which were as solid waste also increased. Therefore, how to find a method of the best of both worlds, which can not only improve the low temperature performance of asphalt pavement, but also consume waste tyres, protect environment, has become the focus of the world attention.Basing on the analysis of the low temperature cracking mechanism and performance indicators of asphalt pavement, the thesis studied the low temperature performance of rubber powder asphalt mixture(dry method) on different grade, different types of rubber powder and different content by the split test, low temperature bending test and low temperature bending creep test, and analyzed the impact of long term aging to low temperature performance, all of these can provide reference for the rubber powder applying in the low temperature area.Studying results show, adding rubber powder improved the low temperature performance of asphalt mixture. Rubber powder added have a best content, the best content of 80 heads rubber powder is 0.5%, and 40 heads rubber powder is 1%. Long term aging lowered the low temperature performance of rubber powder asphalt mixture.
