Study On Bus Passenger Flow OD Matrix Estimation Methods Of Multi-center Cities

As the accelerating development of urbanization, multiple-structure is the direction of big cities .The traffic has characteristics of independence, hierarchy and difference, which decide that transport planning methods should also have certain characteristics. The status bus OD matrix is the is the basis of public transport planning, which play an important role in demand forecast, layout of network and stations. Studying on bus passengers OD matrix estimation of multi-center cities has important practical significance in improving the urban bus system theories and methods.All contents are based on investigation of multi-center cities traffic flow and transport planning studies at home and abroad. Firstly, bus trip characteristics in multi-center cities and theory about OD matrix estimation are analyzed. Statistical analysis method and method based on certain mathematical programming model are proposed. Secondly, bus passengers flow of multi-center cities are divided into two hierarchies, that is flow between interval main trunk and secondary trunk or branch line in region. Macro OD matrix estimation and micro OD matrix estimation are gained by analyzing operation methods of two hierarchies. Otherwise, Cluster Analysis Method is used to dividing traffic zone, simplified method of the back stepping vehicle OD matrix model is applied to macro OD matrix estimation. Finally, all models and methods above-mentioned are applied to Chongqing bus passengers flow analysis, practicality and operability are confirmed by the case.Based on traditional methods of OD matrix estimation and characteristics of multi-center cities, some new opinions are proposed. The results have certain guiding significance in bus passengers flow OD matrix estimation of multi-center cities, and can be referenced by relevant theoretical researches.
