Noise is considered the third pollution which is after the air pollution and water pollution.With the rapid development of China's automobile industry,improvement the living standards of peoples cars in cities has increased year by year,the city becoming more and more serious pressure on vehicle noise pollution,at the same time, people require the vehicle more quiet,low-noise motor vehicle become the main objective to the major automobile manufacturer.Most of the noise in automotive vehicle is exhaust noise which is a third of the vehicle noise,So Exhaust noise must be reduced in order to decrease vehicle noise.Installation the muffler device in the car exhaust:system is the best way to solve the exhaust noise,so well-designed performance exhaust muffler is the effective manner for reduction vehicle noise.This paper use GT-Power software to design and optimize muffler of the micro-car.Based on the working process of the engine model,tail pipe noise calculation model,muffler model,the muffler performance simulation model, which is completed acoustic performance and aerodynamic analysis of the simulation. Combined the experimental and performance simulation to optimize the muffler in order to solve the tail pipe over all noise and the forth noise,As a result,the tail pipe noise reduce 6.4dB(A),which is to meet the design Statement Of Requirements.Using Fluent software which is one of the excellent CFD software to simulate and analyze the two muffler schemes' flow field,such pressure field,temperature field,turbulence field and velocity field.Through compare and analyze this flow field, optimized the part of muffler to meet the requirements.Through analyze the traditional drain off water and find it's fault,create a new method to drain off water Performance Simulation and analyze the drain off water of inner muffler which is based on Fluent software,showing the aerodynamic performance of muffler after the installation of drainage pipe.The flow noise is not increase after installation the drainage pipe through comparison and analyze.So muffler's life can be extended after installation the drainage pipe.
