Automotive steering rod ball joint test bench measurement and control system makes use of computer to build up a data acquisition and numerical control system, and connects to the test bed.The computer is in charge of data collecting,quantifying, processing and outputting the test result as concern as each test parameter such as load and torque.In the process of test,the computer can monitor and control the test process according to the numerical feedback and request of artificial input to achieve the object of closely tracking and controlling the state of test bed and test pieces,thus complete the test on the performance of the steering rod ball at high speed and high precision.This article has discussed the research and development of the automotive steering rod ball joint test bench measurement and control system,in order to integrate the mechanics and electronics,the advanced computer technology is introduced to the automotive steering rod ball joint test bench.The dynamic characteristic test of the load and the torque is both the main test subject in this experimental bench.In order to achieve to the confirmation and the appraisal goal of the performance and the character of the automotive steering rod ball joint,it obtains the dynamic characteristic curve according to the torque parameter,Therefore, hardware system platform and the software system platform are built to achieve to this target.In the hardware system,it has concerned about the choose of sensor,designed signal processing electric circuit and the data acquisition electric circuit of the sensor, realized the dynamic gathering of the load and the driving moment,As well as taken the essential anti-interference measures to guarantee the accuracy and the reliability of the test data.It uses the serial communication to complete the data exchange between the monolithic integrated circuit and computer and finally realizes the computer survey and the control to the test bench parameter.In the software system, it divided the software system into several main modules according to the function and type which the system software will realize,then solved the implement of bottom input and output ports' data operate in the environment of windows operating system. It solved several key questions such as data gathering,analysis and processing as well as the serial communication between the computer and the single-chip computer with the multi-thread technology.Finally,the experimental system software design concept and flow has been elaborated.A friendly interface and multifunctional application program has been developed by VB6.0.With the help of this system for the online experiment,the experimental result has been analyzed finally.This system realized the computer automatic monitor of the observing and controlling process and enhanced the accuracy and efficiency of observation effectively.The field test result of driving moment's dynamic characteristic of automotive steering rod ball joint test showed that the developed computer observation system of automotive steering rod ball joint test bench can meet the need with experimental request and proved that idea and method are feasible in the design of automotive steering rod ball joint test bench.This system improved automatic and intelligent level.It renovated experimental contents and experiment methods,and provided some feasible ways and references for the experimental equipments' updating and rebuilding.
