The development of the railage demands the reliability and the security higher and higher, but it is becoming more and more difficult to test the locomotive in the railway becouse the railway is becoming busier and busier. Comparing with the line test, the settled locomotive test rig has the advantage of the off-line, not climate, repeatable reproduction locomotive working conditions, and testing locomotive performance under different conditions or parameters, and can bring greater economic and social benefits.The locomotive brake test rig is another cooperation project between our institute and Beijing February 7th Locomotive Plant. As the fellow-up project of the traction test rig, the locomotive brake test rig is to research and develop the brake control on electrical locomotive. In the condition of constant torque or constant power, it can measure locomotive brake performance with the changes in speed and load, so it has a very important practical significance. Due to various reasons, the study is the first time in the country.Since the restriction of objective conditions and the need of test security, our laboratory set up a physical simulation system to simulate the electrical system of the locomotive brake test rig to study the brake performance of the actual system. The overall structure of the physical simulation system is PC plus the crew. Kingview, as the core of the PC, mainly shows the data and send control orders; PLC, as the core of the crew, mainly gets the data and executes control orders. Control programme is brake torque control when more than the base rate or brake power control when less than the base rate.My main work in the project: participated in the early research, designed the system structure, control programme and test process; set up the physical simulation system, designed the system principle and developed the hardware and software; ran the physical simulation system, got the curve of the system brake performance, analyse the error and proposed the solutions. There are three main results: (1) I participated in the overall design of the project, completed a preliminary investigation, designed system structure, control programme and test process of the locomotive brake test rig.(2) I set up the physical simulation system to validate the reasonableness of the control programme and the test process, designed the corresponding system structure and control programme to simulate the actual system, and developed a PLC-based control system and Kingview-based monitoring system.(3) I ran the physical simulation system, measured a large number of open-loop, torque or power closed-loop data, and on this basis mapped out the target curve, that is the braking system performance curve, which verified the effectiveness of the physical simulation system, the feasibility of the actual control system and reasonableness of the test process.
