Development Of R6160ZC Series Of Engines

This thesis aims at designing and developing the representative diesel engine of R6160ZC series made by Weichai Power Co., Ltd. The develop requirement is fulfilled through optimizing design its main parts combining with the simulating calculation, as well as the performance optimizing, and the series products are also successful developed with improving the speed and power etc…The main content and conclusions are show as follow:1. The development of R6160ZC series infuses new vigor into the traditional 6160 diesel engines.This new product improves the small mid-speed marine diesel engines of the company to a new level. The good matching performance meets the client needs. The primary characteristic of the R6160ZC series is its fine controllability and the performance improving. With the successful development of the basic model R6160ZC, the extended products R6160Z-1, R6160Z-2 are also developed. It's become a model for the power and speed improving of series products.2 .The development of R6160ZC series establishes the basis of improving the power and speed for extend products.The R6160ZC inherits the simple configuration and convenient maintenance strongpoint of the 6160A,X6160ZC series, by designing the parts structure, optimizing design the crankshaft, oil pan, electric pre-supplying oil pump, which have a direct impact to the engine. All performance index of R6160ZC series meet the designing assignment and correlating standard through the performance and durability test. During the tests, main altered parts ran fluently and passed the tests successfully, which means the designing and development of R6160ZC has achieved.3 .The power is improved by the development of R6160Z-1 series.Improve the power and explosion pressure on the basis of R6160ZC series which runs at speed of 1000r/min. Design and calculate the cylinder block, main parts of the engine, and redesigned the crankshaft and connecting rod. From the performance and durability test, the designing of new series is realized and the engine matching range is extended.4 .R6160Z-2 realized the power improve by increasing speed.On the basis of the successful development R6160ZC and R6160Z-1 mentioned above, the rated power of R6160Z-2 engine has been improved to1200r/min. Furthermore, the main parts such as connecting rod, crankshaft and camshaft have been redesigned and by simulating calculation. From model test, the development has been completed.
