The Special Machine is a kind of smallscale precision machine ry, whichrequires strictly vibration control in the operating process. The damper is an importantpart of the Special Machine, it plays an important pole to control the vibration andraise the antidisturbance ability of the system.In this text, the range of the parameter s are analyzed by using the vibrationequations and the MATLTB; According to the request of the technology andeconomy, the design principle is put forward; The structure design of the damper isfulfilled , it satisfie s not only the demands of assembly and seal, but also the functionof the axial support, and meets the system vibration parameter demand completely .The calculation s of the damper's main vibration parameters is set up(radial stiffness,damping coefficient, vibration mass). A new calculation model of the springscombination is established which keeps with the reality, and a more correct formulahas obtained for this springs combination with initial elongation ? the measurementmethods of the damper vibration parameter is developed, the testrigis built up. Atthe same time, an optimized installation of the radial stiffness is for the demand of theindustrialization . The study of damper's reliability is carried on systematically . TheFailure Mode Effect and Criticality Analysis (FMECA) of the Special Machinedamper has been accomplished and the main failure mode of the main spare parts(spring assembly ) is the fatigue split, the measures of the prevention and compensatehas been put forward, the experiment research is carried out ,too. The reliability of thespring assembly is 0.9994 by the combineequation checking.The innovations refer to: For the spring combinations with initial elongation. Itobtains the more exact radial stiffness expression by using a new calculation idea? theresults has theoretical importance in the damper designation. It designed an optimize dchecking installation of the radial stiffness for the industrialization , and reaches agood economical efficiently. It establishes a set of study method of the damperincluding reliability design, analysis and test ,the results are applicable.
