As an ideal device in inertial navigation, Laser gyro has the advantages of low cost, long life, high reliability and large dynamic range etc, and has great research value and broad application prospects. Optical resonator is the core of the laser gyro, and its loss directly affects the performance and accuracy of the Laser gyro.How to measure the loss of the laser gyro cavity is studied in this paper. First of all, the working principle of the laser gyro and the principles and ways of measuring the loss of resonator are introduced in detail. And then the hardware of system, including pre-amplifier circuit, the driver circuit of piezoelectric ceramic and data acquisition and control circuit, is designed, and the selection of chips and the drawing of the schematic are presented. The data acquisition and control system is achieved based on the framework of Filed Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) + CY7C68013, in which the firmware of the CY7C68013 is devised detailedly. The FPGA module is divided into interface module, the control module of SDRAM, the generator module of sawtooth wave, etc, and their function simulation is completed and the effect well.
