High-power AC source such as UPS, generators, power inverter, has been widely applied in various fields, so its accurate test of performance and reliability appears to be particularly important. Traditional test methods mainly consist of the big resistance load discharge test and the conventional electronic load test. The big resistor discharge test cannot provide continuous load impedance and consumes all the energy from the tested objected, resulting in waste of energy and bring seriously serious heat problem. For conventional electronic load test, there are still energy wasting and heating problem, although the test accuracy problem is solved. In order to saving energy and reducing radiation problem, a new type of AC electronic load with energy feedback is investigated in this paper, it can accurately control the discharge current of the tested object, at the same time make the energy feedback to the AC grid in unit-factor. The energy feedback system studied in this paper has a very fine application extension, which can not only be used in AC electronic load directly, but also be applied in regenerate energy generator and motor braking energy feedback and other applications.First, the PWM rectifier principle is analyzed in the thesis, according to the characteristics of its AC side current full control and Four-quadrant operation, The PWM rectifier is introduced into the energy feedback AC electronic load. The DC link double VSR topology is used in electronic load as the main topology; direct current control is used to fully guarantee the control accuracy and speed. Then, the working principle of energy feedback electronic load is discussed in detail, and a closed-loop simulation model is set up in Saber simulation environment, the simulation of static and dynamic conditions is made. Finally, the related hardware circuits and software of the energy feedback part are designed in detail, and prototype development and experiment validation are completed.
