The paper proposes an Energy Feedback Type electronic power load that can run with the same function as resistors in the test of all kinds of DC power source. It transforms the DC power into AC power and then sends it into the utility power system. The device has the characteristics of low harmonic current, high powerfactor.This paper proposes the system configure and operation principle of electronic power load. and its control method and circuit are analyzed. The suggested system includes two parts: DC-DC converter and DC-AC inverter. In the design, the converter select full-bridge converter; the inverter is implemented with voltage-source PWM rectifier. IGBT is chosen as the power electronics element. To realize CCS expediently, the control part is designed based on the DSP device, TMS320F240, which is a ideal choice of real time control in converters. The power load unit is finished through the combination of hardware and software.The experimental results verify that the electronic power load is well designed. The power load can be regards as a resistor whose value changes smoothly. Required performance is obtained: minus unit power factor and the output current that is close to sinusoidal.
