Future aero-engine control system is a complex multi-variable control system, whose development direction is intelligent control, real-time control. The Digital electronic controller is the core component of the aero-engine control system. A good design of the aero-engine control system, which can adapt an advanced control algorithms and has high reliability, is certainly based on a complex multivariable control rule. This paper demonstrates a high-speed and reliable communication means of dual CPU control technology that is now in the forefront of the field of aero-engine control system, and demonstrates a feasibility of application in the engineering.A digital electronic controller of a certain type engine is analyzed from the overall design, and it is described that a special dual-dual redundancy control system based on a dual CPU structure(DSP and 386EX processor) in detail. Several common forms of communication used in the Aero-engine control system are discussed. Combining the characteristic of the technical development of engine control, the high-speed and reliable communication of the dual CPU structure(DSP and 386EX processor) has been realized by Dual-Port RAM. And the interface circuit is presented between Dual-Port RAM IDT7024 DSP and 386EX processor. The core control module, power supply module, voltage translation module, logic switch modules, and other key link of the 386 EX and DSP communications systems is also detailed exposition.Several ways of sharing conflict in the dual-port RAM operating is discussed and analyzed basd on the hardware platform. The real-time and reliable communication methods between 386 EX and DSP are studied, including the software and hardware testing methods, interface control module and etc. The feasibility of dual-port RAM communications in the engineering applications has been demonstrated in the paper.
