Along with the arrival of the energy crisis, the development of HVAC also met the bottleneck of the energy. The traditional cold/heat source of HVAC system almost had the disadvantages of high consumption of energy and environment pollution. However, the thermal energy of urban sewage is a kind of green energy, and the scientists have paid great attention on it that makes use of the thermal energy of urban sewage for the air condition system. This thesis discussed the necessity and possibility of using the thermal energy of urban sewage as the cold/heat source of HVAC system, then introduced the development and study of the system of the urban sewage source heat pump (USSHP) in the domestic and abroad, and discussed the specialty and disadvantage of the technique. For the feasibility of the USSHP, I made use of the Primary Energy Ratio to compare the USSHP with other few HVAC systems on energy conservation. And made use of the"quotient of energy consumption"and"quotient of energy conservation"to evaluate the performance on environment of the USSHP, and got some optimistical conclusions. At most conditions, the temperature of the urban sewage was obviously higher than other heat sources of HVAC system in winter, so the USSHP was especially valuable in winter. For the central heating, compared the USSHP with other few HVAC systems on economics and gave some other improved method to increase the feasibility and economy of USSHP system.Although the USSHP has so many excellent capabilities, its application and criterions were actually few in domestic. Based on the present studies, an integrate techniques was designed for the USSHP, and then the principles and the flows of several main parts will be studied.
