The Application of large span slab with low rids in large space residence makes the residential space more changeable. The conceptions of separating drying area and wetting area in the house have restricted the changeability of the toilet position, and then design of toilet becomes a new issue. This paper has begun with researching of the structure theory, expounds the combination of the large span slab with concave slab and adaptable residence. The author analyze the feasibility at structure point through some design examples in engineering in order to solve the theory problem arise by the application of large span slab with low rids and concave slab in residence.By using general purpose finite element program-ANSYS, the author made several models to analyze the mechanical performance of this particular slab under uniformly distributed load by comparison to common large span slab. And then, the article analyzes effects of different aspects such as concave slab size, position and the thickness of connectional rids to the performance of slab. According to the research, the large span slab with concave slab residence is feasible as long as the size of concave slab is under a certain percentage. The joint rids and circumjacent slab are the key position in structure design. Finally, the paper has introduced the calculation method of the large-span slab with concave slab. We can design large-span slab with concave slab in virtue of designing method of common large-span slab. The calculation method of finite element for engineering design is chosen to analyze the selected examples of a project including load and internal force calculating, reinforced calculating and construct measures when necessarily, as a result to offer reference to project designer.
